Whale Watching in Nova Scotia is a popular activity to do all around the province throughout the summer and early fall.

Whether it’s a sunny day, foggy or even raining they can almost always be found. Popular spots for whale watching in Nova Scotia include Cheticamp, Pleasant Bay and Englishtown in Cape Breton, and Lunenburg on the South Shore. However the number one spot for whale watching and where you will have the most luck finding them is from Brier Island, NS or close to it.

Situated near the mouth of the Bay of Fundy is Brier Island where many humpbacks and other whales visit to feed every summer. The whales tend to arrive in June and stay into October. There are several whale watching tours that depart from the Brier Island area. No matter which you choose they all speak with each other when it comes to tracking and finding the whales.

Most recently I took a tour with mariner_cruises and even though we were shrouded in fog we found at least 3 gorgeous whales that put on a little show for us. The crew were great and so informative too! I highly recommend you go whale watching with them!

Maybe not a favourite in the midst of #hurricanelee, but we love Sandy Cove Beach! It’s beautiful, with a great mix of landscapes and crabs and water warm enough to swim (if you like a crisp Atlantic dip). The sand itself is soft and perfect for sand castles! It’s a great place to spend an afternoon in #Digby county. Bring a lunch!
