The Van Tassel Lake Trails offer a variety of trails ranging from easy woodland walks to more challenging climbs. Located just 4.5 km from the town of Digby, the trailhead at 859 Culloden Road welcomes visitors to explore well-marked paths that wind through mixed forest and alongside streams and lakes. Information panels along the way highlight the area’s rich history, including remnants of early homesteads, as well as native plants and local wildlife.
From the lookout, enjoy sweeping views of the Digby area. Birdwatchers will appreciate the observation decks overlooking the lake while several picnic tables and benches provide peaceful spots to rest and take in the scenery.
The trails are open year-round, free of charge, and maintained by the Van Tassel Lake Trails Association with the help of community volunteers.
We invite you to experience the beauty, history, and tranquility of Van Tassel Lake, only minutes from the town of Digby!
