The 2nd Annual Month of Maud

##
Last year we celebrated the first ever Month of Maud! Reaching over 850,000 people world wide, by telling her compelling story and sharing her vibrant artwork.

The Month of Maud is mostly just online for now, but we are working hard to grow it into a month filled of Maud inspired celebrations in the Digby area.

We will mostly be celebrating her on this blog and on our social media, but there are other ways to celebrate her in the Digby area.

There is the Maud Play which will take place in Weymouth this month.

The Admiral Digby Museum is also celebrating this month with a new exhibit.

There is also the many Maud memorials around the Digby region that you can find all about on our Maud Lewis page.

Maud Lewis (1901–1970) was a Nova Scotian folk artist celebrated for her vibrant, joyful paintings of rural life. Despite physical challenges and poverty, she created a prolific body of work from her tiny home in Marshalltown, near Digby, which now stands as a symbol of her enduring legacy.
