Digby Makes History: Announcing the Inaugural Lobster Trap Christmas Tree Lighting!

##

It’s official, and it’s happening THIS FRIDAY, December 12, 2025!

Digby’s newest and most unique holiday tradition: the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree Lighting paired with a Static Christmas Parade!

This event truly came together fast, driven by community spirit, so we need your help spreading the word.

What is a Static Parade?

For those unfamiliar, a Static Christmas Parade is a brilliant way to enjoy the floats safely and up close. Instead of the floats driving past you, they will be lined up along Water Street shortly after 6:00 PM, allowing spectators to walk by and admire the festive displays at their own pace.

📅 Event Schedule: This Friday, December 12th

The festivities will center around the Marina Parking Lot and Water Street:

Time Event Location
6:00 PM (approx.) Static Christmas Parade Lineup begins Water Street
6:45 PM Official Lighting of the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree Marina Parking Lot (beside the stage)
~7:00 PM Fireworks Display! 🎆 Visible from the Marina area

More Than Just Lights

Make sure to arrive early and stay late to enjoy all the fun! We will have:

  • Hot Drinks ☕ and Snacks 🍪

  • Special Gift Bags for the children 🧸

The magnificent Lobster Trap Christmas Tree—a nod to our rich maritime heritage—will be set up right next to the stage at the Marina Parking Lot.

A Huge Thank You to Our Community Heroes

This event is a testament to what our community can accomplish when we work together. A huge shout-out and thank you go to the dedicated volunteers who made this quick turnaround possible, especially:

Waylon Mosher, Phil Robertson, Shane Weir, the team at Lobster Bash, and all the community volunteers who spent time today preparing the tree in the cold. Your hard work has created a beautiful new tradition for Digby!
