This has been such and exciting year for whale watching in the Digby Area. Lot’s of activity from our humpback friends and a few rare sightings of Right + Blue Whales.
Plus, there was also a feeding frenzy on our nations birthday. Here is how Mariner Cruises described it:
“It was a very Happy Canada Day on the Bay of Fundy!
It was like fireworks at sea with lunge-feeding whales bursting from the sea in explosions of white water. There were sizzling sounds made by the millions of krill and herring jumping and splashing at the surface. 1000s of birds flew above and around us. It was a celebration of the beauty and diversity of Mother Nature.
We had jaw-dropping moments watching the giant jaws of Humpback and Fin Whales open up, expose their baleen, and fill their ventral pleats.”
